TBM Racing Kawasaki SX-R Twin Pipes

We are proud to introduce our Twin Pipes for the Kawasaki SX-R 800.   We have put over a year of testing and development into these pipes and the result is astonishing.   Two fully water jacketed expansion chambers squeezed into the SX-R hull without relocating the OEM components.   Our goal in this project was to give SX-R owners another option to the single pipes on the market and unleash the full potential of the 800 powerplant.   We performed most of our testing on a race spec Limited engine rather than simply trying to improve on the stock engine.   We used the single pipes as our baseline and didn't stop until we outperformed them throughout the powerband.   We gained 5-10 peak horsepower over the nearest competitor and 500 RPM on a Limited engine.   Bottom end is as good as or better than the competition with incredible gains in mid range acceleration.   Peak RPM carries over 1000 RPM rather than the typical 300 - 400 RPM range experienced with the single pipes.   Superstock engines will experience significant gains as well, but will vary depending on set up and port specification.

As with all of our products the highest grade materials and craftsmanship are used throughout our SX-R Twin Pipes.   Every bracket is CNC machined, or laser cut and each welded bracket has been gusseted and reinforced to prevent failures.   Another advantage over the single pipes is weight distribution throughout the hull.   The second chamber is used to balance the hull to improve the handling characteristics.   Water injection ports are included, although the kit is sold separately.  

We recommend the use of our TBM Girdled Head Kit with the Twin Pipe specific head cap to prevent cylinder damage.   1.5" Tau Ceti flame arresters are recommended, although any 1.5" flame arrestors can be used.

Kawasaki SX-R 800 Twin Pipe Hood Insert Kit

Designed specifically for our SX-R 800 Twin Pipe exhaust system our hood insert kit will give you the necessary clearance for our massive pipes.   Our insert replaces the entire inner liner of your stock hood saving 5 lbs from the heavy OEM part.   The air intake is designed to channel the water away from the carburetors and meets all IJSBA Limited class rules.   Our kit includes the inner liner and handlepole channel cap with the necessary hardware and detailed installation instructions.

SXR 800 Billet Head Kit

Newly released, TBM Racing in conjunction with Joey’s Watercraft developed this simple yet effective head kit. Frustrated with constantly breaking domes on the “other” brands we were running we decided to build our own with our patent pending “Dome Saver” design. The head body and cap is constructed of 6061 aluminum, while the domes are machined from 7075, which is much more durable and rarely used due to it’s high cost. This head utilizes a three-piece design that has water flow control not possible with a one-piece head. No gaskets or messy silicone needed as it’s completely sealed by o-rings. Our Universal Girdled Head Cap comes standard with this kit and will accommodate our Twin Pipes, or Factory Dry or Wet pipes. If using the Factory Dry Pipe you will will need to purchase the Factory Dry Pipe Hardware Kit sold separately.

Kawasaki 750/800 Head Kit w/o Girdle

Our Non-Girdled Head has all the features of our Girdled Head without the added expense and complexities of the girdle kit. Cost effective yet high quality you can add to the reliability of your SX-R and have the option of running different compression ratios by interchanging domes. Recommended for use with the stock pipe, or Factory Wet Pipe this head is a great performer at a reasonable price.

Our interchangeable domes are compatible with both our Non-Girdled and Girdled Head Kits. Manufactured from billet 7075 aluminum alloy and hard anodized for even heat dissipation and corrosion protection. Our domes feature a unique bowl shape that is not your typical spherical configuration. Team Kawasaki has proven this design for the past four seasons. Also featuring a stepped squish band which optimizes the piston to dome clearance to gain unsurpassed performance. Our standard domes are compatible with any year SX-R 800 cylinder and .020" base gasket.

TBM Racing Limited Spec Dome

When the IJSBA rulebook allowed the use of up to a .060" base gasket in the Ski Limited class we went right to work designing a dome that would accommodate this change.   Just like our Standard domes our Limited Spec domes are machined from billet 7075 aluminum alloy and are hard anodized for corrosion protection.   The difference in these domes is the increased step in the squish band.   A .050" step optimizes the piston to dome clearance when using a .060" base gasket.   If a thinner base gasket is used the dome will require machining to prevent piston to head contact.   Available in 22cc, 24cc, 26cc, 27cc, 28cc, 29cc configurations.

Perfect for the hardcore recreational rider that wants to boost the displacement of his SX-R 800, our Big Bore domes will accommodate up to an 84.5mm piston.   Compatible with our popular girdled and non girdled head kits, these domes will enable you to bore up without the fear blowing o-rings.   We use the same indestructible 7075 aluminum alloy and hard anodize for corrosion protection.   Our Big Bore domes are available in 24cc and 26cc configurations.   Pistons are sold separately.

TBM Racing SX-R 800 Big Bore Limited Dome

P/N TBM026-L-BB, TBM027-L-BB, TBM029-L-BB

When the IJSBA rulebook announced that the displacement would be increased to 900cc in the Ski Limited class we went right to work designing a dome that would accommodate this change.   Our Big Bore Limited Dome will accommodate an 84mm to 85mm piston.   Just like our Standard domes our Big Bore Limited domes are machined from billet 7075 aluminum alloy and are hard anodized for corrosion protection.   The .050" step optimizes the piston to dome clearance when using a .060" base gasket.   If a thinner base gasket is used the dome will require machining to prevent piston to head contact.   Available in 26cc, 27cc, 29cc configurations.

TBM Racing Limited Performance Kit

Introducing the ultimate performance upgrade for your Limited Class SX-R 800. We have put together this simple kit to get the most from the new base gasket rule. Our kit includes a high quality metal reinforced (no more blown base gaskets) .060" base gasket and our Limited specific domes in the cc of your choice. The performance gains will depend on many variables, but with a properly set up SX-R this kit can net 1.5 - 2mph top speed gains without sacrificing acceleration.

2006 Stock Class Legal

Boost the compression of your stock SX-R 800 with our copper base gasket.   Compression increases between 10psi to 20psi over stock without sacrificing reliability.   Our test results confirm an increase in acceleration and midrange power without losing peak RPM.   Don't get left behind by lining up without these gaskets.

Kawasaki SX-R 800 Poly Base Gasket (.010")

2006 Stock Class Legal

Our .010" poly base gasket gives you an alternative to our .005" copper base gasket if you would like to run higher port timing.   Some tuners will prefer this gasket over the copper depending on the variations in port heights in the stock cylinders.

Kawasaki 750/800 Metal Core Base Gasket (.060")

2006 Limited Class Legal

Our .060" metal core base gasket is a must when competing in the 800 Limited Class.   Significant gains (150 - 200rpm) in peak RPM translate to more speed when using this gasket.   We highly recommend using our head with the Limited domes to optimize the benefit of this upgrade.   When using the .060" base gasket in conjunction with our Limited domes you will net a broader powerband and 2-3 MPH in top speed depending on set up.

Introducing our angled reed spacers, which position the reed cages in the optimal position for fuel atomization.  Key features include a full 3 degrees of angle (1 degree more than our competitors), an integrated pulse fitting, which allows you to add a second pulse line without drilling your crankcases.  An easy way to bolt on an increase in acceleration and mid range power.  Compatible with stock, or aftermarket cages these spacers come complete with all necessary hardware and gaskets.

TBM Racing Non-Girdled and Girdled Head Factory Dry Pipe Hardware Kit

With the release of our Twin Pipes we decided it would be best to offer one head cap that fit's both our Twin Pipes and the Factory Dry Pipe.   If you are running the Factory Dry Pipe it is necessary to use this kit to accommodate their mounting brackets.   If you are using the Girdled Head one kit is adequate.   If you are using our Non-Girdled Head with the Factory Dry Pipe it is necessary to purchase two of these kits.

Designed to replace the e-clips that commonly break allowing the carburetor shafts to vibrate side to side damaging the butterfly’s and carburetor bodies. Manufactured from 6061 billet aluminum and anodized for corrosion prevention. The two-piece design allows installation without disassembling the carburetors.

TBM Racing Kawasaki SX-R 800 Lightweight Flywheel

Introducing our lightweight flywheel for the SX-R 800.   Our flywheel is compatible with the stock ignition in '04 - '06 models and any aftermarket ignition system.   Note: 2003 SX-R's require the use of an aftermarket ignition.   The flywheel operates as a total loss system (does not recharge the battery), although with an Advent T3 ignition and a fresh battery you can ride for several days without the need to charge the battery.   This is the lightest flywheel on the market saving over 3 pounds vs. the stock flywheel.   Ideal for racing, freestyle and freeride our flywheel will give you amazing acceleration without jeopardizing reliability.   Available with or without an Advent T3 ignition.   Please specify the year of your SX-R when purchasing the ignition.

Tau Ceti Flame Arrestors

When using our new SX-R 800 Twin Pipe exhaust system it is necessary to use these 1.5" Tau Ceti flame arrestors.   During our pipe development these flame arrestors provided equal flow to competing flame arrestors with three times the volume.   Rest assured no power loss will be experienced compared to the oversized filters on the market.   Available in silver and black.

Kawasaki SX-R 800 Advent Ignition

Boost the performance of your 800 SX-R with an Advent Ignition system.   This is the best way to optimize the modifications of your engine by running a timing curve specifically designed to coincide with our performance upgrades.   We offer TBM designed curve sets, or we can program the curve of you desire for an additional $75.00.   Available with a remote switch option that allows you to toggle between the four pre set curves without opening the electrical box.   Combine this ignition with our Lightweight Flywheel and hold on!

Hi Performance Ceramic Crankshaft Bearings - Kawasaki SX-R 800 (Also fit's any 750 model Kawasaki)

Introducing the highest quality crankshaft bearing you can buy for your Kawasaki 800 SX-R.   With the increased horsepower we are getting out of our Limited and Superstock engines the crankshaft bearings are the first part to fail.   The stock bearing is adequate for the 80hp stock engine, although when we are exceeding 160hp on our Superstock engines we commonly have bearing failures.   With over two years of testing we are very pleased with this bearing and also see a small increase in hp due to the reduced friction on the crankshaft.   Great for a Limited engine as well and we consider it mandatory equipment on any TBM built Superstock engine.

Ultra 250X Valve Cover Block Offs

Introducing our Valve Cover Block-off Kit which is designed to seal off the ports on the valve cover when removing the emission control system. The benefit of removing the factory emissions system are eliminating the air from the valve cover from being pumped into the exhaust system which confuses the air fuel mixture.   These block offs also provide a much cleaner plumbing of the engine compartment eliminating potential reliability issues with hoses blowing off.   Kit includes two block off plates and are black anodized for corrosion protection.
